Managed Grassland. This habitat type, which generally occurs only around Park Service buildings and in other similar situations, tends to have relatively few fungi present, although certain species can be common at times, especially after a period of rainy weather. In addition, where oaks have been planted, the fruiting bodies of ectomycorrhizal fungi sometimes appear in general vicinity of the tree. Managed grasslands are best developed at Antietam National Battlefield but smaller areas occur in all four parks.
