Common Name: Sugar Maple

General Description: Large tree, sometimes reaching a height of 35 m (115 feet).

Geographical Distribution: Found in eastern North America from North Carolina and Tennessee northward into southern Canada.

Ecological Distribution: Generally occurring on well-drained but not exceedingly dry sites with relatively nutrient-rich soils. Found in a wide range of different forest types.

Mycorrhizal Status: Endomycorrhizal
