Latin Name: Prunus serotina Ehrh.

Common Name: Black Cherry

General Description: Large tree, commonly reaching a height of 15 to 30 m (50 to 100 feet).

Geographical Distribution: Found throughout eastern United States and also extending north into Canada and south into Mexico.

Ecological Distribution: Occurring in a wide variety of different environmental situations and thus found in all types of forests except for those on the very wettest and driest sites.

Mycorrhizal Status: Endomycorrhizal
