Latin Name: Quercus alba L.

Common Name: White Oak

General Description: Large tree, long-lived and often usually reaching a height of 24 to 30 m (80 to 100 feet), usually with spreading branches.

Geographical Distribution: Found throughout most of eastern North America and also extending into Canada.

Ecological Distribution: Occurring in a wide range of different types of situations, ranging from lowland areas to rather dry uplands. Found in most types of forests and as isolated individuals in open areas.

Mycorrhizal Status: Ectomycorrhizal
